You really didn't disregard the instructions. It says "do not remove *from the lab*." It seems like you only opened it *in* the lab. Furthermore, who in the world is telling you not to do something? According to your drabble, you are in charge. Is there something sinister about it? In that case, you are supposed to look at it. From my reading of your drabble, you are not in trouble, Boss Lady. If there is some strange box with dubious warnings in your lab, then you are supposed to look into it. It's the responsible thing to do.
