Yes, indeed. I come from a family that did ask.

To be fair, I remember my granny asking me, ‘Why aren't you speaking to (the man who touched me inappropriately)? Did he do something?’ And I, avoiding her scrutinizing gaze, said words I can't recall but in effect, ‘No reason. No.’

She never stopped asking though. My aunt asked the man and he confessed.

My uncle beat him up after evicting him from our home.

I say all that to say, we must believe what our instincts tell us.
