Toni - what an interesting story. I agree with so much of what you said. But, as a mentor, must your mentee do everything you suggest? Now, mind you, they'd be wrong not to, but I see the "do as I say" as a boss/employee relationship dynamic. I had not seen it being in a mentee/mentor experience.
Now, he is saying he won't follow because he knows better--more power to yuh, bruh, I say. And, no promotion for you!
