I do have another view of this subject. You can have a passion for art, not be good at it, and support it by encouraging artists. (I suppose similar to your husband supporting football)

And life… you support your daughter’s passion by buying her materials, etc. she’s lucky to have you. Many people I suspect are born with passions that go unrealized because they are prevented from practicing. Does it make it less of a passion.
